Plan: First I will create a ball and hollow the bottom. Then I will shape the nose, eyes and mouth. Next I will create teeth and slip and score them on. Last I will roll a tube and put it in his mouth.
Reflection: I am very happy with how this turned out. If I did it again I would create a larger mouth so the teeth fit better.

Artwork Details
Artist: Vincent van Gogh
Title: Skull of a Skeleton with Burning Cigarette, also known as Head of a Skeleton with a Burning Cigarette
Medium: Oil on canvas
Date: Painted in early 1886
Location: Housed in the permanent collection of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam
Context and Symbolism
Van Gogh created the painting while studying at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. It is widely interpreted as a memento mori, a symbolic reminder of the brevity of life and the inevitability of death. The lit cigarette adds a touch of dark humor and is believed to be a critique of the rigid, traditional academic drawing classes Van Gogh found dull.
